This will include making natural dyes from traditional dye plants, herbal dyes and wild plants from the gardens at Hawkwood along with natural mordants such as rhubarb leaf and oak gall, as well as colour modifiers from acidic plants and alkalis from wood ash.
A collection of cellulose and protein fibres including organic UK-grown peace silk and organic European unbleached cotton or linen swatches will be provided and included in the cost for making a collection of dye samples with.
