Herb Walk

Join our monthly herb walk, they take place on the first Saturday of every month in or around Cam and Dursley. The walks take about an hour, we don’t cover much distance but we do meet a lot interesting plants.

The location for the walk changes each month, depending on what’s in season.

For our March walk, we’ll be visiting Rackleaze nature reserve in Cam.

We’ll meet at 10am outside Winterbotham Hall on Cam High Street.

This is a site we’ve visited previously in autumn so we’re excited to see how different it feels in early spring.

The nature reserve is adjacent to fields currently being given over to housing development. You’ve probably noticed all this activity in Lower Cam. Many have expressed sadness at seeing the green diversity of these fields changing for good. We’ll take the opportunity as part of our March walk to give thanks for all the wonderful plants we’ve known, gathered, spoken to or looked out from from year to year within these fields.
