Severn Bore: 2 Star

March 4 @ 8:00 am9:30 am

Best Viewing Areas for the Severn Bore – Wednesday 4 March

📍 8.37am – Minsterworth – Located 4 miles from Gloucester along the A48, this is one of the best places to experience the bore.

📍 8.42am – Stonebench – 3 miles from Gloucester along the B4008. Turn right into Elmore Lane, cross the ship canal, and the River Severn is ahead.

  • Be aware that this area can become congested, and after the bore passes, the rising river level may flood onto the road. Take caution.

📍 9.02am – Over Bridge – Just 1 mile out of Gloucester along the A40, this spot provides a convenient viewing location to watch the bore’s final approach before it fades due to the weirs near the city.

For more locations to watch the Severn Bore, including hidden gems and alternative vantage points, check out Explore Gloucestershire’s Places to Watch the Severn Bore guide.
