SUMMARY:Natural Dyeing
DESCRIPTION:This 1 & ½  day workshop will teach you how to extract beautiful colour from natural substances which you’ll use to dye wool yarn and fabric. These substances may be fresh\, dried\, powdered or liquid extracts. \nWith the expert guidance of textile artist Rebecca Connolly we’ll start with the Friday afternoon preparing wool; making mini hanks and mordanting\, plus dyestuff preparation and then regroup on the Saturday for a day of experimental dyeing.  Our aim is to produce numerous small yarn samples or fabric swatches of the colours obtained from a variety of natural dyes. We cover all the steps to optimise success in your natural dyeing and give you confidence to experiment at home. ‘
