DESCRIPTION:The landscape can appear a little bleak in early spring after all the glorious colours of Autumn and Christmas\, but look a little closer and you will see many shades of colour and texture in the Hedgerows. From the bright red of dogwood \, the silver grey of snowberry\, and olive green of ash\, to the vibrant colours of this season’s willows.  We will use them all to celebrate the short season of Hedgerow Basketmaking. Join willow artist and tutor\, Helen Lomberg\, in a creative day working with willow to make a stunning Hedgerow based basket using locally grown materials. Working in a small group and with lots of support from Helen\, you will learn traditional basket making techniques and weave a colourful and unique basket. You could make a colourful fruit basket\, platter or tray or even a small basket with a simple handle. \nAll materials are provided\, but if you’d like to bring your own secateurs you are most welcome. Please wear old clothes as it can get a bit mucky!

DESCRIPTION:As awareness increases about the impact of intensive farming on soil quality\, flooding\, biodiversity and ecosystems\, farmers and others who manage large areas of land are turning to regenerative techniques. \nThis session for farmers and land managers will explore tree-planting within regenerative land management\, and will include a tour of Hammonds Farm with Eric Walters of Good Small Farms\, who will share learning about the benefits of planting trees. Ruth Powell from Stroud Valleys Project will also give input about how the charity is involved in ‘regen’ tree planting. \nThanks to Western Forest\, who are funding the event so it is free to attend for farmers and others who manage large areas of land. Light refreshments are included. There is a back-up date of Friday 6 February in the event of bad weather.

Her delicate vocals blended with dynamic acoustic guitar will accompany you as you make a fabulous Wassail crown and take part in a whole host of other brilliant natural crafts (or simply sit back and enjoy the atmosphere whilst sipping on your delicious cider!). \nWe’ll be serving up seasonal soups and gorgeous apple juice from our fields\, as well as homemade cakes and hot drinks. SUMMARY:Rich's Cider Farm Wassail
DESCRIPTION:Join us for our annual Charity Wassail\, where we’ll be singing\, dancing and drinking plenty of our award-winning cider. \nA Wassail is a traditional Somerset ceremony carried out to bless an orchard. It’s an ancient practise we keep alive here at the Farm\, complete with rituals involving tree roots\, shotguns\, and\, of course\, cider\, to ward off bad spirits and ensure a good harvest for the year to come. \nThere’ll be delicious hot food on sale all evening from our Cider Press Restaurant\, and two fully stocked bars. The Skimmity Hitchers will be performing for us\, playing their classic Scrumpy and Western music with a 21st Century twist. \nAs we celebrate all things cider on this winter’s night\, we’ll be raising money for Charity. \nTickets are limited and unfortunately\, they won’t be available on the night.
